Teavana

I love them! Their teas have the best flavor. They offer great varieties of instructions for brewing the different types of teas. I've tried several different types, and used the recommended German rock sugar to enhance the tea, without making it too sugary, and they always come out fantastic. If you don't have a tea pot, or a proper way to brew it, try a French coffee press! I used that to brew the tea (they taught me that it's best not to constrict the tea to tea balls, or bags) I didn't have a brew vessel, and realized that the coffee press would do fine. And it did! The teas are well balanced, and of course tea has natural health benefits.

I now find myself drinking more tea (it's fantastic iced!), and less Starbucks! (Don't get me wrong. I love my Starbucks, but my wallet doesn't)

give Teavana a try! They have locations in malls, and online.

Ped-Egg

Amazing. This product is fantastic! I watched the infomercial commercials and was skeptical. I've used the pumice, files, callous razors, and so on. I saw the product at Target, $9.99. Good price in comparison to other products on the market.

It was easy to figure out, and work. You just run it back and forth over where you need it, and it literally grates the dead skin off. It's like a micro plane cheese grater, but for your feet. I could not believe how close to the commercial the product performed. I've had it for a couple months now, and it's still sharp as a tack, and nearly impossible to injure yourself with it, as you can a callous shaver. The Ped-egg also does not leave pits in your feet from uneven skin shaving. It's smooth, and soft. I can't get these results from the nail salon pedicures. Honest. I recommended it to my sister, and she's in love with it. She even said she has no reason to go and get pedicures anymore. The callous removal was the main reason she would go. There is one issue of course. It ALL does not make it in the chamber like on the commercial, but the stuff that gets out is minimal. I'd say about 1-3% of shavings come dusting out. But that's nothing compared to how much you see on the inside when you clean it out. This product performed well. I highly recommend the Ped-Egg

Nair Shower Power

I saw a commercial for this product yesterday. Along with it, they said that you could receive a free printable $3.00 off coupon, if you went online. I did as they said. I downloaded the "coupon printer" program, filled out the mandatory registration screen, and waited. Nothing. I did, however receive an error screen saying that I've already printed this coupon. Nope. Never did, actually. There was no place on their site to rectify this issue. Thanks for nothing. That's strike 1.

I decided to not let that mishap hinder my purchase of this product. I hate waxing, and shaving is such a chore. I went to the local Rite-Aid, and purchased it for $6.99usd. I bought the orange tube version. It's "Exfoliating" with Skin Renewal Micro-Beads. It comes with a "specially designed sponge for effective hair removal". With the orange side of the sponge, I followed the directions. You apply it on dry legs before the shower. Enough to cover the hair, but don't rub it in. Wait at least 1 min before stepping into the shower. Done. It said to follow my normal shower routine, but not to let the jets touch my legs directly, or it will come off. But that "some" rinse off is not unusual. I also did not exceed the 10 min of application time as stated. When it was time to remove the cream I looked down, and 50% of the cream had in fact, washed off. I don't feel that 50% is "some". Strike 2.
It said to use the other side of the sponge to remove the hair in a circular motion, in a test patch. Well 90% came off in the test patch so I waited another min, yet still not allowed to exceed the 10min. time limit. Then I went for the rest. It did not all come off. I'd say about 90% overall remained. I had followed the directions as they said, but there were still patches. Patches that were fully engulfed in the cream. I still had to get out the razor and clean up after the nair. Strike 3.
Not fully satisfying. I also noticed that on just my legs alone I used most of the tube. I don't have large legs. I have average legs. There is not enough left in the tube to do one more full leg. Strike 4. After getting out of the shower I did notice my legs were smooth feeling. That's a good thing, but that the skin looked like chicken skin. That look still remains. 3 hours later.

Based on this experience I would not use this product again. Not enough product in the bottle for the price. And I still had to do a few passes with the razor when I was finished. That's terrible. I'll give a follow up when the regrowth starts. To see if it is "days" longer then shaving.

Thanks nair. Your intentions were good, but you just could not pass the bar.

A place to read unbiased reviews of products

I sat around thinking of how commercials promise a certain result of their product, and when you actually go out, purchase it, and use it, you're left not completely satisfied. The commercial promised a level of satisfaction that you just did not see. I hate this. So, I am creating this space as a place for my personal product reviews. Unbiased. The good, bad, and the ugly.
